Summer applicants can apply either in person at the Hall Office or at the Accommodation Service here. You can stay at Helen Lowry Hall over summer if you are studying or working! A single room for summer is only $100 per week including electricity and access to the shuttle to Kelburn.

So you've been offered a place at Helen Lowry Hall - now what?Below is more information about how to accept our offer, and forms if you have misplaced yours. Also, if you are an International Student or currently overseas you won't be posted any information, so everything in our postal offer is here for you to download and read at your leisure.
NOTE: This information is only for those who have received an Offer of Accommodation. If you have not received an offer, please contact the Helen Lowry Hall Office or the Accommodation Service at Victoria University of Wellington.

Paying your Deposit
You deposit must be paid by the expiry date given on your offer letter. It can be paid by:Cheque: Post it with your completed Residential Contract, Room Allocation form and passport size photos. Write it out to Helen Lowry Hall Board Inc.
Internet banking: if you would rather fax or email your completed forms, or if you are late in accepting our offer.

EFTPOS: If you are already in Wellington, or in the area you are welcome to visit us in the Hall office and pay by EFTPOS.
Credit card: if you are overseas, or an International Student looking to reduce your transaction fees. The Credit card companies charge us a commission, which we then pass the cost on to the payer. The commission is approximately $11.70 (NZD). Be sure to add this to your deposit when considering payment options, along with the currency conversion fee, if applicable.
International Bank Transfer:if the payment is from outside New Zealand. Contact your bank about how you will do this. You will be responsible for any additional charges. Your bank will require the following information:

Financial Guarantor
Accommodation Fees are due in advance in installments due at the beginning of each Trimester (see Fee Schedule). An installment is equivalent to 19 weeks. If a Resident has a parent or guardian living in New Zealand they can become a Financial Guarantor. Having a Financial Guarantor means that the Resident can pay in quarterly installments (equivalent to 9.5 weeks) which are due on arrival and after each holiday break.If a Resident does not have a Financial Guarantor the accommodation fees must be paid on arrival for the entire trimester.
